Nick comes to the Vario Productions team with ten years of live sound, recording, and audio visual experience. While attending high school in New York, Nick took recording classes to enhance his musicianship skills, and he fell deeper in love with the intricacies of the industry. Upon graduating, he chose to continue his education in Audio Production and Live Sound at the Recording Engineers Institute in New York, where he had the opportunity to train under George Marshall (Twisted Sister, Public Enemy).
After completing the program at the Recording Engineers Institute, Nick began working at Evolution Sound Stage, while also working rehearsals for Twisted Sister, Nine Days and other cover bands. He also freelanced for multiple production companies working for signed artists, generic cover bands, culinary expos, and parks and recreation events around the NYC metropolitan area. And, as if that didn’t keep him busy enough, Nick also worked multiple corporate A/V installations for college theaters and lecture halls, just to gain additional skills and experience.
After freelancing for a number of years, he took a job with Sound Investment in Brooklyn as a warehouse manager, handling gear, sub-rentals, and working corporate events throughout NYC, including the branch’s first ever event held inside the Empire State Building.
Having been born in Huntington Beach, CA, Nick moved back to California after 11 years in New York, where he began freelancing for the Vario Productions team. And, after eight months of leading crews as the lead A/V tech, he accepted a full-time position with us to continue to build and hone our team, skills, and processes.
Though he spends most of his time leading our teams on events, his free time is spent hiking and making/playing music.
